Job Title: Senior Enterprise Architect
This role is a full-time opportunity to join the Local Peoples team permanently, with your first project supporting the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) Indigo Tranche 2 Transformation Program. Local Peoples is a preferred partner for the Australian Federal Governments Department of Health and Aged Care’s Human Centred Design (HCD) Centre of Excellence (CoE). Beyond this project, you would be contributing to impactful co-design projects that improve services, policies, and products for communities across Australia.
About the first project:
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is seeking an experienced Enterprise Architect to support the Indigo Tranche 2 Transformation Program. The role will work closely with service designers, business analysts, program architects, ICT teams, and senior stakeholders to design and assure enterprise solutions that align with strategic objectives.
This position requires strong expertise in enterprise architecture, Agile project delivery, and ICT transformation within complex government environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with AEC Enterprise Architecture, service design teams, solution managers, and technical delivery teams to:
Develop conceptual solution designs and solution delivery roadmaps.
Define program epics and features for Agile delivery.
Secure endorsement for proposed solutions from AEC Architecture Board, Technical Advisory Group, and Cyber Security.
Work directly within Agile delivery teams to translate service design outcomes into deliverable ICT components.
Ensure integrity and alignment across application, data, technology, and solution architectures.
Contribute to technical documentation and procurement evaluation activities.
Develop and maintain key stakeholder relationships, including senior executives, to influence and drive alignment.
Represent and present architectural views across governance forums.
Perform additional duties as directed by APS management.
Essential Criteria
- Demonstrated experience in:
Agile project delivery frameworks and managing ICT change in Agile environments.
Enterprise Architecture in a complex ICT environment, ensuring alignment with organisational constraints.
Working with Program Managers and Product Owners to manage competing requirements.
ITIL processes and structures.
Strong stakeholder management, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence senior executives.
Proven track record in delivering enterprise solutions that meet business and ICT requirements.
Desirable Criteria
Experience producing innovative Enterprise Architectures (both current and future state).
Ability to translate technical concepts into business language and vice versa.
Working Arrangements
Hybrid work model, primarily based in Canberra, ACT.
Initial contract until 30 June 2026, with a 12-month extension option.
Up to 40 hours per week.
