Pino Demaio
Chief Impact OfficerPino is a design and social innovation leader passionate about the role people and planet centric co-design can have in solving our most complex challenges. His experience spans impact agendas including housing, sustainable cities, public health, education, climate and the environment.
Pino believes co-design is essential to create inclusive outcomes in policies, services, and products and he is an active advocate for its adoption. Pino is the founder and Chief Impact Designer of Local Peoples, a strategic design studio which collaborates extensively government to apply co-design principles for equitable and inclusive public services. Local Peoples also publishes Matters Journal.
Pino is a co-founder of public health focussed social enterprise NCDFREE, co-founder and former director of affordable housing developer Assemble Communities, founding publisher and Creative Director of Assemble Papers , former Senior Brand designer for Nike EMEA and is on the advisory board of Pause Festival and Hope St Youth and Family housing services.
About Local Peoples
Local Peoples works, creates and plays on the lands of the Wurundjeri, Bunurong and Wathaurong peoples of the Kulin Nation, land which has never been ceded. We thank them them for caring for this land for over 40,000 years and recognise and pay our deepest respect to elders past, present and emerging. This always was and always will be Aboriginal land.
