Location: Canberra, ACT (Hybrid)
Contract Duration: Until 30 June 2026 (with 12-month extension option)
Clearance Required: Must hold or be able to obtain NV1 Security Clearance
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
About the Role
Local Peoples is seeking experienced ICT Procurement Officers to support several ICT programs and projects for our Federal Government client. Working closely with the Program’s Procurement Manager, you will manage end-to-end ICT procurement processes, engage with internal stakeholders and suppliers, and ensure compliance with Government procurement frameworks.
This role will suit professionals with strong knowledge of Commonwealth procurement, BuyICT panels, and ICT category management, who can work effectively in fast-paced environments and deliver to tight deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage ICT procurement activities across multiple projects.
Provide expert advice and support on procurement processes and compliance requirements.
Prepare procurement approval documentation for labour hire, software, hardware, and ICT services via BuyICT panels.
Administer tender documentation through DTA BuyICT platforms.
Deliver high-level customer service to internal stakeholders, engaging project, technical, and executive teams.
Build and maintain relationships with external suppliers, managing contracts, disputes, risks, variations, and negotiations.
Support the preparation and administration of ICT tender evaluation reports.
Monitor and manage the ICT procurement mailbox.
Conduct supplier, market, and product analysis to inform procurement planning.
Essential Criteria
Minimum 4 years’ experience in ICT government procurement.
Strong understanding of the PGPA Act, Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), and BuyICT processes for ICT-related procurement.
Ability to analyse IT suppliers, markets, products, and service categories to inform planning.
Experience supporting the administration of ICT tender evaluation reports for approval.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with proven ability to deliver within tight timeframes.
Desirable Criteria
Prior experience in Australian Government ICT procurement.

Security Clearance: Must hold or be able to obtain NV1 (Client will not upgrade clearances).
